是在 Twitter 上看到這則 tweet 才發現 DigitalOcean 多了 3GB 的方案：

如果去翻資料，可以看到官網是在 2017/11/08 與 2017/11/15 中間增加的...
看規格可以看出來記憶體很多，但 CPU 與 SSD disk 空間都不是很多，有種 Amazon EC2 裡 R 系列機器的感覺，但卻沒放到 High Memory 的列表內 (DigitalOcean 已經有推出 High CPU 與 High Memory 的機種了)，應該是入門款的想法？
DigitalOcean 推出了高 CPU 使用量的 VPS 服務：「Introducing High CPU Droplets」。
價位從 USD$40/month 開始。相較於 Standard Droplet，CPU 的速度提升到 2.5 倍速 (平均)：
The current CPUs powering High CPU Droplets are the Intel Broadwell 2697Av4 with a clock speed of 2.6Ghz, and the Intel Skylake 8168 with a clock speed of 2.7Ghz. Customers in our early access period have seen up to four times the performance of Standard Droplet CPUs, and on average see about 2.5 times the performance.
目前早期先開放這些區，八月底會開 FRA1 與 LON1：
These Droplets are available through the Control Panel and the API starting today as capacity allows in SFO2, NYC1, NYC3, TOR1, BLR1, and AMS3. They will be available in FRA1 and LON1 by the end of August.
等 benchmark 數字出來後才會比較清楚跟 AWS 上的 c4.large 系列比起來如何... 不過現在看起來 DigitalOcean 想直接跟 AWS 對決？如果技術上沒有特別的東西，應該會蠻辛苦的... (因為只剩下價格)
DigitalOcean 也推出了 Object Storage：「Introducing Object Storage」。
不過價錢沒有先公佈啊... 這年頭這種東西沒有比 Amazon S3 便宜，或是有特殊功能的話，也別進來玩了。
以 DigitalOcean 最近的動作來看，還是先放置好了，等價錢出來再來決定要怎麼做 XDDD
Linode 與 DigitalOcean 這兩家有名的 VPS 都推出新的功能：「High-Memory Instances and $5 Linodes」、「Load Balancers: Simplifying High Availability」。
Linode 另外將 $10/month 方案的硬碟空間加大：
And finally, the existing Linode 2GB ($10/mo) plan is receiving a free storage upgrade from 24GiB to 30GiB.
本來對外的速度限制在 125Mbps max 拉到 1000Mbps：(本來的資料可以參考之前的頁面)
And finally finally, we’ve also increased the outbound network speed limit on all plans to be at minimum 1000 Mbits. Existing Linodes will need to reboot to pick up the new value, that’s it!
所以 AWS 決定也跳進來搞 VPS 服務了？推出了 Amazon Lightsail：「Amazon Lightsail – The Power of AWS, the Simplicity of a VPS」。
定價策略就跟 VPS 一樣：
如果你熟悉數字的話，這其實跟 DigitalOcean 的規格與價錢一模一樣 (參考「Pricing on DigitalOcean」這頁)，連備份的 USD$0.05/GB/month 也相同。目前雖然只有 us-east-1 有，但看起來複製並不難...
FAQ 裡有提到可以透過 VPC peering 連進 AWS：
You can connect your Lightsail instances to VPC resources in your AWS account privately, by using VPC peering. Just choose Enable VPC peering on your Lightsail account page, and Lightsail does the work for you. Once VPC peering is enabled, you can address other AWS resources in your default AWS VPC by using their private IPs.
有趣的是，這個頻寬費用超級便宜... 目前比較不確定的是 bandwidth 是不是 pool-based (沒用完的流量可以挪到其他機器上用)，另外這邊的頻寬計算方式是不是算 us-east-1 內？
這個方案好有趣...
早上花了點時間，把 blog 從 DigitalOcean 搬到 Vultr 上了...
本來是打算要換到 Linode 上，但 Linode 最小台的機器太大台了 (2GB RAM)，還是找了其他方案來用，看了看就挑 Vultr 了，用 768MB RAM 的方案，跟之前 DigitalOcean 相比多了一些 RAM 可以用...
收到 DigitalOcean 的信件通知，snapshot 會開始收費：
Starting October 1, 2016, we will begin charging for snapshot storage at $0.05 per gigabyte per month. This will first be reflected in the invoice posted to your account on November 1, 2016. Like other features, snapshot storage uses hourly pricing, and size is calculated from a compressed version of the snapshot—not the total disk space allocated to the Droplet.
來規劃看看要怎麼處理好了...
DigitalOcean 也提供類似 Amazon EBS 的服務了：「Block Storage: More Space to Scale」。
只提供 SSD 型態的 Block Storage，價位跟 Amazon EBS 類似，USD$0.1/GB/month。有幾個限制，一個是服務的地區目前只有 NYC1 與 SFO2，下一個會是 FRA1：
You can create Block Storage volumes right now in NYC1 and our new SFO2 region. FRA1 is next in line and will be available in the coming weeks. We’re working quickly to expand to other regions. More updates to come.
另外一個是最大 16TB，也是跟 Amazon EBS 一樣：
You can easily scale up and resize your Storage volumes from 1GB to 16TB and move them between Droplets via the control panel or API.
多了個選擇可以用...
DigitalOcean 開了印度機房：「Introducing Our Bangalore Region: BLR1」。
在 Bangalore (邦加羅爾) 建立機房... 愈來愈多公司在印度提供服務 :o
DigitalOcean 的下一個資料中心會建在印度：「Announcing the Home of our Next Datacenter: Bangalore, India」。
這幾年可以看到很多投入印度市場的消息，像是 Amazon CloudFront 在 2013 就增加了印度機房的 PoP，而且是一次增加兩個：「AWS CloudFront 與 Route53 增加印度機房...」，而去年 2015 年時又喊話要直接開印度區：「In the Works – AWS Region in India」。
