AWS 提供 Windows 上的 Deep Learning AMI

有一些 Windows 上的東西就可以直接開起來跑了：「Announcing New AWS Deep Learning AMI for Microsoft Windows」。

目前支援 2012 R2 與 2016：

Amazon Web Services now offers an AWS Deep Learning AMI for Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 and 2016.

然後 driver 與常用的東西都包進去了：

The AMIs also include popular deep learning frameworks such as Apache MXNet, Caffe and Tensorflow, as well as packages that enable easy integration with AWS, including launch configuration tools and many popular AWS libraries and tools. The AMIs come prepackaged with Nvidia CUDA 9, cuDNN 7, and Nvidia 385.54 drivers, and contain the Anaconda platform (supports Python versions 2.7 and 3.5).

2012 與 2016 美國總統選舉的變化

在 The Economist 這邊看到圖表，比較 2012 與 2016 年投票的變化：「Who voters supported in the last American election compared with this one」。2016 美國總統選舉將在 11 月初舉辦，這邊是目前的情況。

這張圖表頗清楚的，雖然有些比例不太對... 可以看到兩大黨以外的票比 2012 增加了不少。

Percona 說明關於為什麼花這麼多時間修正 MySQL 5.5.28 安全問題...

Percona 的 Stewart Smith 解釋為什麼花這麼多時間才修正這個安全漏洞：「CVE-2012-4414 strikes back in MySQL 5.5.29 (and what we’re doing in Percona Server 5.5.29)」

MariaDB 的人在得知問題後先建立了 MDEV-382 這個 issue，然後建立了 rpl_mdev382.test 這份測試資料，讓其他參與者可以測試手上的 MySQL 是否有問題。

Oracle 在修正問題時並沒有使用 MariaDB 這份測試資料測過 (或是測過但因為種種因素...) 就推出 MySQL 5.5.29，但 MySQL 5.5.29 用 rpl_mdev382.test 測試會失敗，而實際確認發現 Oracle 並沒有把問題解乾淨。所以本來 Percona 預定要使用官方 MySQL 5.5.29 版本為基礎推出 Percona Server 5.5.29 (可以降低 Percona 維護成本)，變成將會改用 MariaDB 的 patch。

讓 Percona 的人特地寫一篇出來，看起來對 Oracle 不太爽... XD
