Blog 關掉 CloudFront CDN…

剛剛用手機看自己的 blog 發現版面亂掉，看起來是 CSS 有問題… 測了一些東西後發現，如果 W3 Total Cache 使用 CloudFront CDN，會使得 WPTouch 失效，拿掉 CDN 的部份就會恢復正常… 那只好先拿掉了，現在用手機看 blog 的人應該就正常了…

jQuery CDN failover 的方式…

之前有在其他網站上看到 failover 的技巧，但剛剛才發現 jQuery 官方網站上也用上了類似的技巧，將 Google (ajax.googleapis.com) 與 EdgeCast (code.jquery.com) 的 CDN： <script src=”http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js”></script> <script>!window.jQuery && document.write(‘<script src=”http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.2.min.js”><\/script>’);</script> 雖然 jQuery 網站上是放在開頭，但放在 HTML 最後面也有一樣的效果…

Netflix 公佈北美 ISP 對 Netflix 的速度…

Windows Azure Platform 平台，其中 CDN 的部份的測試…

透過台灣微軟的幫忙，一個月前拿到了一組 Windows Azure Platform 的帳號測試，來寫一下感想好了。 在管理介面時會被提醒需要安裝 Sliverlight。沒有 Silverlight 的只能使用基本介面，同時也在登入時說明 2011 年初會把舊介面關閉： 抱歉，即使活動辦得很精彩，我還是沒興趣裝 Silverlight… 所以下面的測試都還是以基本版的測試為主。 能看的文件不多，而且要在登入後才能看 Help and Resources (這是 non-Silverlight 版本) 抓了 VSCloudServiceHelp.chm 後，打開來發現只有標題能看，每個章節都看不到內容： 實在是測不下去，收工…

利用 AWS CloudFront 的 Custom Origin 實做標準 deflate/gzip 壓縮

AWS CloudFront 支援 Non-S3 Origin 了！

AWS CloudFront 支援非 S3 的 Origin Server 了：「Amazon CloudFront Support for Custom Origins」。 這樣等於直接與現有 CDN 市場競爭，使用者可以用 EdgeCast 的 Cloud Storage 或是自己的 Origin Server，甚至是用 GitHub 直接當 Origin Server，晚點再來玩… 另外也從 Beta 畢業成為正式的服務，並正式提供 99.9% 的 SLA：「Amazon CloudFront – Production Status and an SLA」。

Windows Azure CDN 的台灣 PoP…

自九月開始，微軟的 Windows Azure CDN 增加了兩個 PoP：「20 Nodes Available Globally for the Windows Azure CDN」，參考文章最後的「UPDATE – 9/1/10」部份。 Seoul, KR Taipei, TW 這樣又多了一個 CDN 在台灣有 PoP… 其他幾家是 Akamai 與 CDNetworks。 在台灣放的點是是方電訊，以微軟自家的 hp.msn.com 測試 (目前是 CNAME 指到 msnimstore.vo.msecnd.net)，從 HiNet、SEEDNet、台灣學術網路 (透過 SEEDNet 轉過去) 都會被導到台灣的點，而台灣固網則是被導到美西，看起來是因為台固與是方是走 … Continue reading →

台固的 Akamai cluster 似乎撤掉了…

前陣子 jnlin 說台固到香港變差，結果剛剛才發現 Akamai 從 7/26 後會把台固的使用者導到香港，而不是導到原本在台固內的 cluster： 在遠傳 (Seednet) 的就沒這個問題： 這麼一來，台固出國變差也不是什麼奇怪的事情？
